smth like Pischinger Wafer Cakes



Today is a very special day for me cause for the first time since I moved in to my boyfriends apartament and his parents visited. So you'll understand when I'll tell you I was a little stressed :)

I figured the way to a man's heart is through his stomach so I decided to do something sweet. I mean I know his parents and I like them, but I had to show his mum that I'm taking care of him :) Normally I would bake something but since I don't have an oven it is really hard to do ;).

But there's plenty of dessert that don't require baking one of them is Pischinger Wafer Cake :) It's really easy to make and looks quite nice!


You'll need:


150 g shelled walnuts

150 g dark chocolate (I've used with 70% cocoa)
125 ml cream 30%
175 g of sugar
25 g of butter
1 box of wafers 



***given values ​​are approximations, taste it and then you can increase the amount of chocolate, or sugar to make it how you like it the most etc.


Step by step (oh baby!:) :

1. Start with walnuts. You have to grind them. Grinding is tricky - you can go two different ways : you can grind walnuts thoroughly so you'll get a smooth paste. You can also grind them less thoroughly, leaving some larger pieces, which then will make the wafers more crunchy. But the mass will be harder to spread. I left larger pieces... And I don't regret it! :)
                       
                      


2. Next heat up the cream.

3. When the cream starts boiling, reduce the heat, add butter, sugar and chocolate.

4. Mix it till it's smooth and all ingridients are combined.

5. Pur half a glass of it- it will be the glaze.

6. Then add 120 g of walnuts (rest will be used to sprinkle the sides) and mix everything up.

7. Leave it to cool.

8. Take the wafers and spread the mass over them evenly. Remember about the edges! So proceed with five layers. 

As soon as they are ready, cover the cake with aluminum foil or some baking paper, and then put something heavy and flat on it (I used an atlas, and on top of it I put a pot of water for example :)) Wait 2-3 hours for the cake to merge .
    

Then you have two options again :) You can leave it in the size you have or divide it up to smaller pieces - that's what I did.
Next we take the pieces, brush it with chocolate glaze, and sprinkle the edges with walnuts. Unfortunately you'll have to wait a little longer - put the pieces into the fridge for about an hour. In that time the glaze should harden.
Then.. you'll just have to eat it!
